Aldi Magic Bag. Aldi is launching its partnership with Good To Go, the world’s largest surplus food platform, across all 990 of its UK stores.
Following a successful trial last year, the UK’s fastest growing supermarket is now offering surplus food bags, available nationwide, to tackle food waste while offering customers even lower prices .
‘Magic Bags’ will include a range of grocery products, priced at just £3.30 each for at least £10 worth of food purchases, less than a third of the price by their sell-by or use-by date are reaching.
To receive a Magic Bag, shoppers can simply download the free Good To Go app and search for an Aldi store near them before reserving a bag to pick up in store at the allotted time.
The nationwide roll out is expected to save 4,000 tonnes of food from being wasted annually and will form an important part of Aldi’s ongoing commitment to reducing food waste.
In addition, all of Aldi’s UK stores will continue to donate surplus food to local causes 365 days of the year. Since 2019, the supermarket has donated over 30 million meals through its successful partnership with Neighbourly.
