Nearly 10 million people watched Adele’s two-hour-long concert and interview with Oprah Winfrey on Sunday, which CBS cast as the biggest audience for a TV entertainment special in months — Adele’s first since 2015. Less than a week before the album’s release.
Some 9.92 million people watched Adele One Night Only Live on CBS and streaming services (these preliminary figures do not include people who watched the special or tuned in outside their homes after its initial live broadcast), according to preliminary data released by the network on Monday.
The special went beyond Sunday football (which generally garners more viewers than anything else on television) and CBS. 60 minutes,
CBS says the Adele concert and interview was the most-watched TV entertainment special since the Oscars in April, drawing 9.85 million viewers.
