SDA has designated its 96 stores from where one hour delivery express service will be offered, as grocers want to provide more shopping options to customers.
Stores where it will be offered include Asda’s Old Kent Road and Isle of Dogs Store. See full list below.
The supermarket chain, in which the Issa brothers, Zuber and Mohsin and private equity firm TDR Capital have bought a majority stake, said in June that its new ‘super speedy service’ would roll out in three branches after a trial run.
The online grocery firm’s vice president, Simon Gregg, said slots at some pilot stores were regularly sold out.
The service gives customers access to the full online range of more than 30,000 products if they live within a three-mile radius of a store on the plan, and order up to 70 items.
A fee of £8.50 will be charged for delivery.
Asda said customers using the express delivery service can also make use of a new feature that enables them to track their orders from the store to their doorstep in real time.
Businesses are looking for ways to get shoppers to orders more quickly where possible. For example, the Ocado Zoom is Ocado Retail’s same-day grocery service, and allows buyers within a certain distance to place orders that can be delivered to homes that day, in some cases, within an hour. . It is looking for more sites to offer.
