Ever wonder if everyone hates their internet provider, or if it’s just you?

JD Power has released its 2022 US Residential Internet Service Provider Satisfaction Study, which through a survey of nearly 23,000 customers identifies the companies with which consumers are most satisfied in each region of the US.

It also concluded, not surprisingly, that reliability is the biggest factor in customer satisfaction. But despite this, people make choices based on price – the potential for many of us to end in disappointment. Other factors under consideration were communications, billing and customer service.

The following are the Internet providers that customers across the United States are most satisfied with:

East

Among the Internet providers available in the eastern US, the average overall customer satisfaction score was 758. Only one provider was rated above average:

Verizon – 758 (out of 1,000)

Scores for Xfinity (706), Cox Communications (689), Spectrum (666), Frontier Communications (646) and Optimum (642) were below average.

The region includes customers in Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, DC and West Virginia.

North Central

Among the Internet providers available in North Central America, the average overall customer satisfaction score was 700. These providers were rated above average:

Midco – 734 AT&T – 724 CenturyLink – 717 WOW! — 712 Xfinity — 703

Spectrum (683), Extreme (673), Cox Communications (664) and Frontier Communications (664) were rated below average.

The region includes customers in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

Among the Internet providers available in the South America, the average overall customer satisfaction score was 730. These providers were rated above average:

AT&T – 761 Xfinity – 736

Kinetic (720), Spectrum (719), Frontier Communications (712), Cox Communications (705), CenturyLink (665) and SuddenLink (638) were rated below average by customers.

The region includes clients in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.

Among the Internet providers available in the western US, the average overall customer satisfaction score was 701. These providers were rated above average:

AT&T – 729 Xfinity – 709

CenturyLink (691), Cox Communications (689), Spectrum (689) and Frontier Communications (676) were all below average in customer satisfaction.

The region includes customers in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
