Garland sent a memo Wednesday afternoon urged the US attorney to “prioritize the prosecution of federal crimes committed on commercial aircraft that endanger the safety of passengers, flight crew and flight attendants.”

The memorandum also states that prosecutors should encourage local law enforcement agencies to promptly report any suspected illegal conduct in the skies.
