Eneraqua Technologies Secures GBP900,000 Indian State Contract

Eneraqua Technologies PLC said Tuesday that it has won a 900,000 pound ($1.1 million) contract from the state government of Uttarakhand, India to supply its ClimateSmart Irrigation system to 340 horticultural farms.

The energy and water efficiency products supplier said the program, scheduled to start in 2022 and complete in 2023, will help the farms reduce carbon emissions and improve water efficiency. This is the first major zero-carbon irrigation initiative of its kind in India, the company said.

Through its Indian subsidiary, Eneraqua will deliver a package of water, energy and soil conservation solutions, integrating its technology Control Flow HL2024.

“This [program] offers an attractive template for other states looking to decarbonize the agricultural sector while meeting the challenges of sustainability,” Chief Executive Mitesh Dhanak said.

Shares at 0725 GMT were up 16.0 pence, or 6.3% at 270.0 pence.
