Watch your favorite TV shows being filmed – for free!
We can all have some fun right now, have a good laugh or get up close and personal with our pin ups (maybe not so close, you don’t want to get in trouble).
Sites like SRO Audience and Applause Store let you book free tickets to some of your favorite TV shows. You can currently get tickets to watch:
Studio locations are always limited so get booked to avoid disappointment!
There are always deals online to watch West End shows – here’s a sample of what you can snap and where:
Did you know that you can watch the latest releases in your local cinema for free? Free Movies UK is a non-profit organization that works hard to get members as many free cinema tickets as possible. It works as a platform based community where people share information, codes and exchange tickets. There are no ads. No fee. And it’s really simple:
Register on the website here. Wait for the activation email. Click on the link to activate your account. Join the forum. Download code. Take the code for the cinema. Buy popcorn. Enjoy your movie! hidden perks
For example, it is always advisable to check any perks you already have with your bank account or through your phone or broadband agreement. One of our team found that he had 6 free Vue tickets with his Club Lloyds account, which he had forgotten. (They picked them in January as a perk!) It’s worth spending a little time going through your email and seeing if you missed or forgot about any benefits yourself…
Also, don’t forget that Tastecard* and Gourmet Society aren’t just for outside food! They can give you up to 40% savings on Vue, Showcase, Picturehouse, Odeon and Empire. The deal also includes some independent cinemas. Definitely worth checking out.
*You can get a testcard for free for 60 days and then it renews at £5.99 per month. Dining out deals are usually 2 for 1 or 50% off on meals. Combine this with a trip to the cinema and you are sure to make some big savings!
become a member
Another great way to save on cinema tickets is to become a member. Most of us either have a cinema we love (comfortable seats are non-negotiable for some, others rating them according to Popcorn). Or is there any cinema hall, which is closest or easy to reach. Whatever it is, check out their subscription deals:
Odeon’s subscription plans are called either myOdeon or myLimitless. Both give you savings on movies, food and drinks. MyOdeon is free and allows you to unlock saver tickets but MyLimitless costs £14.99 per month. For this you will get money from all movies and special scenes will be invited. Check out membership deals here.
Cineworld also offers unlimited cinema for around £9.99 per month (in some larger cinemas, membership costs £15.99 per month). It allows you to watch any movie, any time, as many times as you want, plus 10% off on snacks and drinks. They are also currently offering a free testcard which means you get to make even more money from the deals included in the price.
Lastly, keep an eye out for sites like Groupon. They regularly offer discounted cinema tickets. At the time of writing, they are offering 40% off on Odeon tickets.
If fall for you means cozy nights under blankets, closed curtains and hot drinks in hand, here are some ways to entertain for free.
Freeview isn’t new, but sometimes it helps to remember that it’s a great way to watch TV — lots of TVs — for free.
Freeview and Freeviewplay bring you over 40,000 hours of free on-demand entertainment. The platform has over 700 boxsets, about 70 standard channels, 15 HD channels, and a good search function.
how to see? Visit the website and it will take you through the steps required to learn how to watch Freeview. A lot of TVs these days come with preinstalled ones, but as long as you have a TV aerial or Wi-Fi connection, you should be good to go. Alternatively, you can download the app and watch on your PC or Laptop as well
If you’re like us, you’re starting to feel a little overwhelmed by the sheer amount of subscription services available now. It started with Netflix, then Amazon Prime, Disney+, Paramount, Hulu…. The list feels like it is growing every day.
If you’re on a budget but can’t decide which service to choose, a great free website and app is JustWatch. On JustWatch you can search for your favorite movies and TV shows and find out where they are available. Okay, so it’s unlikely that all of your favorites will be on one channel or service, but you’ll find most are on Hulu for example, so you’ll know not to waste your money on others.
How many times have you heard about a show or movie from a friend or read a review but forgot where to watch it? JustWatch can help! It will tell you where to go and even tell you where to get the movie for free. It may be that Twister, a classic from the 90s, is available on Prime for £3.49, but it’s actually showing up for free on Channel 5 in a week’s time.
free netflix games
Did you know that you can play games for free on the Netflix app? You’ll need a subscription* to get access, but Netflix is opening branches and offering more and more different content.
At the moment they only offer 10 games but they say they want to build a library of games. There are even some Stranger Things themed games!
To get to Games, open the app on your phone and scroll down the homepage. Look for the line that is dedicated to sports. When you tap on the game you want to play, you’ll get some instructions, which include a brief description of the gameplay and some screen shots.
* Speaking of Netflix subscriptions, when was the last time you checked? Many of us are unnecessarily paying for UHD and multiple screens. If you downgrade from Premium to the Standard plan, you can save £5 per month/£60 per year. And don’t forget, you can cancel your plan at any time if you feel that you are no longer getting access to it.
Happy autumn to all. Should a change in the weather make you want to get out and kick the leaves or leaves you want to hibernate, enjoy! We’ll be back with more before Christmas.
