The social-media giant’s latest disruption was shut down for hours earlier this week
The chart, prepared by DownDetector, which tracks website outages, began just before 3 p.m. ET Friday, reporting outages for the company’s platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp.
It was not immediately clear on Friday how many users were affected by Facebook’s latest networking issue.
A Facebook representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The company’s global outage on Monday left more than 2.9 billion Internet users unable to access Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and other tools for nearly six hours. DownDetector reported more than 10.6 million problem reports from around the world, the largest ever discovered by the platform.
Facebook on Monday blamed a simple technical mistake made during routine maintenance for its global outage.
