Former President Bill Clinton was hospitalized on Tuesday evening with a non-Covid related infection, according to his spokesman.

Clinton spokeswoman Angel Ureena said late Tuesday that the former president had been admitted to UC Irvine Medical Center in California.

“She is in good spirits, and is incredibly grateful for the doctors, nurses and staff providing excellent care,” Ureena said in a statement.

Clinton’s doctors said in a joint statement that she was admitted to the hospital for “close monitoring” and given IV antibiotics and fluids.

“He remains in the hospital under constant monitoring,” said his doctors Alpesh Amin and Lisa Bardack. “After two days of treatment, his white blood cell count is decreasing and he is responding well to antibiotics.”
