Aldi Greggs is offering customers free hot cross buns as the bakery chain revealed the seasonal treat will not appear on the menu this Easter.

The announcement was made this week via a spokesperson for Greggs and dismayed fans took to social media to share their disappointment. One shopkeeper said: “How can’t they have hot cross buns on Easter?”

To soothe the nation’s woes, Aldi has announced it will give 1,000 lucky Greggs customers the chance to get their hot cross bun fix for free by offering a £5 voucher, which can be redeemed at any of its stores across the UK. can be done.

With Aldi prices starting at just 16p per bun, Greggs customers will be able to get a total of 30 buns with their free voucher.
