Fresnillo PLC is scheduled to report results for the first half on Tuesday. Here’s what you need to know:
REVENUE FORECAST: The Mexican precious-metals miner is expected to post revenue of around $1.35 billion according to one analyst and taken from FactSet, down from $1.47 billion a year prior.
PRETAX PROFIT FORECAST: FactSet didn’t have any forecasts for the FTSE 100 company’s first-half pretax profit. Last year, Fresnillo posted a pretax profit of $445.4 million for the period.
WHAT TO WATCH:
–DIVIDENDS: The company has a policy of paying out 33% to 50% of profit after tax as a dividend, paid in the ratio of around a third as an interim dividend and two-thirds as a final dividend. No analysts provided forecasts for 2022’s interim dividend. Last year, it declared a dividend of 9.9 cents a share.
–COST INFLATION: While Fresnillo’s second-quarter operational results were well received by the market last week, there is likely to be a focus on cost inflation and steps taken to mitigate this in the financial results, Citi analysts say in a research note.
