The figures show that Heathrow Airport used twice as many passengers in August as it did in the same month in 2021.
Data released by West London Airport shows 6 million travelers passed through its terminals last month, up from 2.2 million last August.
Last month’s figure remained below the pre-coronavirus total of 7.7 million in August 2019.

Heathrow continues to limit the number of daily departing passengers due to staff shortages, which caused havoc for travelers before action was taken to reduce flight schedules.
More than 38 million people have passed through Heathrow this year, four times more than in the same period in 2021, as travel resumes in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The airport did not comment on its latest traffic data due to the Queen’s death.
