The Jan. 6 committee presented evidence Tuesday, saying Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson (R) wanted to “hand-distribute” slates of fake voters to Vice President Mike Pence during the January 6, 2021 certification of the presidential election. Efforts backed by former President Donald Trump’s legal team to reverse the election results.
The committee issued text messages Johnson’s employee Sean Riley sent to Pence employee Chris Hodgson “just minutes” before meeting on January 6 to certify congressional votes, in which Riley said the senator needed to “hand over something to the VPOTUS”. Is required.”
When Hodgson asks what it is, Riley replies: “Alternate slate of voters for MI (Michigan) and WI (Wisconsin).”
Hodgson then explicitly tells Riley: “Don’t give it to him.”
Johnson’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Forbes,
