Prominent Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters tweeted on Tuesday that her Twitter account had been hacked and wiped out, but she knew who was responsible and would “take care” of the situation – despite her page showing no obvious signs of interference.
The California representative, who did not provide any further details, still had more than 3,400 tweets. official twitter account as of Tuesday afternoon, and about 1,700 at that election campaign account.

A spokesperson for Waters did not immediately return a request for comment.
Waters was re-elected to a 15th term in Congress in 2018, representing South Los Angeles, and served as chairman of the House Financial Services Committee.
