PayPoint PLC on Thursday said its pretax profit for the first half of fiscal 2022 has more than doubled, boosted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and its dividend payout has increased.
The UK payments company posted a pretax profit of £54.8 million ($73.0 million) for the six months to 30 September, compared to GBP20.6 million for the same period a year ago.
Revenue increased from GBP60.7 million to GBP70.2 million, supported by recovery from the effects of the pandemic and the acquisition of new businesses.
“We are well positioned to support our partners in responding to broader trends accelerating through the pandemic … Overall, the Board’s expectations for the full year remain unchanged.”
The Board has declared an interim dividend of 17.0 pence per share, up from 15.6 pence per share last year.
