Entender has appointed Mike Regnier to lead the Spanish banking group’s UK business, which is subject to regulatory approval.
Regnier will join the Yorkshire Building Society, which he has led since 2017. He has over 25 years of financial services and retail experience including Lloyds Banking Group, Halifax and Asda. He started his career as a Management Consultant.
Reignier replaces longtime UK boss Nathan Bostock, who plays a broader conglomerate role, head of investment platforms at Banco Santander.
Santander President William Werecker said Reignier “brings a powerful combination of experience, knowledge and energy, combined with a positive vision for the bank’s future”. The bank’s head of Europe, Antonio Simoes, praised the incoming chief’s “proven track record and leadership skills”.
As of June, UK business Reignier will be in charge of approximately 20,900 employees and approximately 14 million active customers. Regnier said he was “honoured” to take on the new role.
Yorkshire Building Society said its Chief Operating Officer Stephen White has been appointed interim Chief Executive with immediate effect. It said that Reignier would work with White to “ensure a smooth transition”.
