Federal prosecutors at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Washington, D.C., issued a grand jury subpoena to groups including Powell’s Defending the Republic Organization and a PAC of the same name. Post, which said it reviewed the document and spoke to an unnamed source familiar with the investigation.

The summons reportedly seeks records relating to the group’s fundraising and accounting as of November 1, 2020.

The document request is part of an ongoing criminal investigation, Post report, whose exact focus is still unclear.

Dominion Voting Systems, which is suing Powell for defamation and defending Republic, has previously questioned when the donation was first requested on November 10, 2020, and when it was included on December 1.
