NET PROFIT FORECAST: The South Korean memory-chip maker is expected to post net profit of 2.415 trillion won ($1.93 billion) for the quarter ended March, according to a FactSet-compiled consensus forecast. That would be more than double from KRW992.64 billion a year earlier.

REVENUE FORECAST: The FactSet consensus is for SK Hynix to report revenue of KRW11.888 trillion for the quarter, up 40% from a year earlier.

WHAT TO WATCH:

–EARNINGS: Investors are looking to see if the company maintained solid earnings growth even if DRAM and NAND chip prices have weakened since late 2021. Some analysts say memory-chip prices haven’t declined as steeply as expected previously.

–RECOVERY: Most analysts bet that memory-chip prices will rebound this year but they differ on when. Investors may want to know SK Hynix’s outlook on the pace of the recovery in semiconductor prices and demand.

–INTEL: The company this year started the earnings of a subsidiary Solidigm, launched after acquiring Intel’s NAND and solid-state drive business. The impact of the acquisition on earnings is also in focus.
