SSP Group plc said on Thursday it has named Patrick Coveney as its incoming chief executive officer, effective March 31.
The food and beverage outlet operator said in July that its current CEO, Simon Smith, would be leaving the company in December. Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Financial Officer Jonathan Davis will lead the executive committee and oversee day-to-day business until Mr. Coveney takes over the role.
Mr Coveney joins Greencore Group plc, who said separately on Thursday he would be leaving the company on 30 March. Prior to joining Greencore, Mr. Coveney worked for nine years at McKinsey & Company in Europe and North America.
“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Patrick who will join us as we emerge from the pandemic with great momentum. Patrick is a strong and strategic leader with proven financial and operational experience across some of the most competitive categories in food sector,” said Mike Clasper, president of the SSP.
